I recently discovered the split screens functionality of Windows Terminal. One of the challenges I had is creating vertical and horizontal split using the same profile (e.g., Ubuntu, Powershell). What happens is when I use CTRL+SHIFT+-
(vertical split) and CTRL+SHIFT++
(horizontal split) on an Ubuntu profile, it’s creating a new split screen with Powershell (which is the default profile when you create a new tab). If you can change the default behavior by going to Settings (CTRL+,
), then select the Default profile from the dropdown.
